  • Springtime at OKC zoo

It was a beautiful morning today, the kids and hubby had light coats on and I braved it with a sweater!  There was a variety of flowers blooming today, daffodils and other Narcissi and plenty of blooming trees. It all made for a very happy Gill!

We visited the Island Life exhibit and the Flamingos came up the closest they ever have to me.  They are one of my favorite birds and I could have watched them all day but my small impatient people prevailed!

Some peacocks were up on the roof of the Pachyderm house right by Island Life.

More birds, but from Oklahoma Trails.

It's not a trip to the zoo without visiting the Orangs.  In this photo Toba is keeping a watchful eye on Elok, the Escape artist who managed to get out of the enclosure a few weeks back

The kids blew off some steam at the playground.  Their objective was not to let me take any photos of them and they would run away screaming when ever I approached them - stinkers!!  I caught one of little lady though!

And apparently they weren't the only ornery ones at the zoo today...... cheeky!!

  • How funny!  My kids are the same way about getting their picture taken by me- and the elk is too funny.  Beautiful spring photos.

  • ...looks like the zoo was alive with activity and gorgeous blooms...that upside down monkey with the missin teeth, is really a cutie!!

  • Your spring is way ahead of ours. Cousin called from Norman today and her Bradford Pears are blooming. Our daffodils are just up for the most part. Some in very sheltered places I see in town are blooming.

  • What wonderful photos... don't you just love SPRING!

  • Nice photo's Gill – but then again I wouldn't expect anything less!
Just stopping by as I hadn't visited for a while.

  • Looks a grand day out! Your flowers and blossoms are ahead of here a bit, there were only the crocuses to be seen growing in the park and daffs are only in the shops yet. Soon though! lovely photos, a joy to see!

  • I must disagree slightly, it isn't so much a trip without the orangatans...true...but It's Really not a trip to the zoo without getting flipped off by the ring tailed lemers! Stunning photgraphy.

  • You certainly took some wonderful photos!

  • the shot of the flamingo folded upon itself and reflected in water is stunning....  then the juxtoposition of the two escape artists (one behind bars and the other yours)just made me smile- g

  • Great photos!  Thanks!

  • Lucky you! spring already and some great photos to show it, only thing i have to photograph for now are puddles.

  • Ok, I am really impressed with the clarity of your pictures.   I posted a few peacock pictures 2 weeks ago and we are not seeing flowers yet in our area.  I love taking pictures at the zoo.  It is about to be field trip time for massive amount of elementary school kids to flock to the zoo and there will go all of the good spots for taking pictures.  Oh well, I am heading to the foothills later this morning to take  pictures of the mountains.  No peacocks there :(

  • Oh Gill....THANK YOU for these beautiful pictures. You know that I needed to see them! lol...
You always capture so many wonderful shots...all of the blooming flowers are just gorgeous. If you see me on your footprints many times, I am not stalking you...I am just drooling over the beauty!
I love all of the animal & bird pics too. You are an awesome photographer.

  • I don' t know which of the pictures is the most beautiful . Flowers and animals are in competition for a contest of beauty . And I don' t forget the art of the photographer who was able to choose angle of shot, poses and background. Those photos are the smile of the Spring .

Thank you Gill for your birthday wishes and kind comment .

    Love
    Michel
