We love to go to the zoo in winter as we feel like it is our zoo, very few people brave the cooler weather. We wrapped up well and made a thermos of hot chocolate for the kids. It wasn't really that cold and little lady had to take her jacket off for a bit.
It was a real contrast to our zoo trip a week or so ago when it was 70F and oh so busy.Icicles on the waterfall.
Ahhhh, a nice cup of hot chocolate!

I bet the kids enjoyed getting out! Great pics. Have a good week Gill.
As usual I LOVE your pictures.
I always love your photos from the zoo. My fav is the cardinal! And the ice is pretty cool! : )
My kids had a cougar scream at them outside last night. They were less then impressed, and two of them ended up in bed with me due to nightmares over it. There much cooler at a zoo!!
@Rainydame - These guys were hand raised. Still, I'd be pretty wary if they were screaming at my window too.
Another great set Gill, the first two are really great , such a dignified look.
your pictures as always are amazing and the kiddos just to cute for words!
Great animal shots all of them....even the ones you have trained to drink out of a cup.
The cougar shot is great. It is so hard to catch any shot of him, too.

He was right up at the glass at the top of their enclosure and was gracious enough to pose for me for a couple of minutes!
