  • Walking with Dinosaurs live

We took the kids to the Ford Center in downtown OKC this afternoon to see the Walking with Dinosaurs live stage show.  Kiddo loves anything to do with dinosaurs and Walking with Dinosaurs is one of his favorite shows, so he was over the moon.

I was happy to see that cameras were allowed, I read the small print from the Ford Center and decided not to take my digital SLR as it could be deemed a “professional” camera and they might not let me in with it.  They did search my bag as they checked our tickets.

The show was really great and loud , especially when T-Rex roared!! We had headphones for little lady so the noise didn’t hurt her ears too much, kiddo just stuck his fingers in his ears when it got too much for him!

  • Pinewood Derby

Kiddo and Daddy made their first pinewood car to run in the scouts Pinewood Derby.  They had lots of fun working on it.  Unfortunately it didn’t really run fast enough and he placed 13th out of 15 in his rank.  He was a little disappointed and wanted to go home after his first race was over (there were 12 rounds).  I felt bad for making him stay right til the end of his division’s races, but we had to see it through.

    Patiently waiting for our division.

Hamming it up for Mum’s camera!

    3rd place in this round!

His friend placed 3rd.  Kiddo got a nice display shelf for his car.

  • A girl of many hats

Being a princess was sooo yesterday……

Today the little lady wanted to paint a “masterpiece”  She put on the beret Granny and Grandpa bought her in Paris.  She would have liked a paint palette too, but she had to make do with her paint pots!

  • Our Princess

We went to a Princess themed birthday party this afternoon. Here is little lady showing off her craft projects.

  • Oklahoma Trails

We love to go to the zoo in winter as we feel like it is our zoo, very few people brave the cooler weather.  We wrapped up well and made a thermos of hot chocolate for the kids.  It wasn’t really that cold and little lady had to take her jacket off for a bit.
It was a real contrast to our zoo trip a week or so ago when it was 70F and oh so busy.

Ahhhh, a nice cup of hot chocolate!

  • 4th picture Tag

    I was tagged by zanychk.

The object of 4th picture tag is to:
    1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer
    2) Select the 4th picture in the folder
    3) Explain the picture
    4) Tag 4 people to do the same.

I am a member of a group called Digital nuts.  Every week we are challenged to digitally enhance a set of photographs.  This is a photo I worked on in early November 2008.

So, technically not a photo I took myself, they are usually stock photos or contributions by group members, but it is the 4th folder and 4th image!
  • Thought for the day….

It took a little while to download on my computer….let the red bar get all the way to the right to avoid frustration!

  • Weekly photo challenge

This weeks subject was suggested by Photographics

I used a tripod mounted camera for this!

I am going to make my best effort to get involved in weekly photo challenge again.  Bad me really let it slip.
I don’t used my tripod as ofter as I should, I was thinking of getting a monopod as it would be less cumbersome.

Here are my shots for this week

  • Up close at Martin Park

We are very lucky to have a great nature park close by.  Martin Park is owned by the City of Oklahoma City, this past year they have upgraded the parking lot and picnic pavilion.  I hope they will repair the water supply that has caused the pond to dry up significantly, it was destroyed during a very heavy rainstorm a couple of years ago.
We needed to get the kids out to blow off some steam and this is the perfect place.

You would think there wouldn’t be a whole lot to photograph in the middle of winter, but I had fun playing with my macro lens.

  • Happy New Year!

We had a very quiet family evening last night.  Unfortunately we had to turn down our invitation to a neighbor’s house for New Year’s Eve since I am still croaky and coughing.  We were all tucked in bed by 11 PM, although I did hear people letting off fireworks at midnight.

I started a new knitting project, a scarf with a ribbon like yarn, it’s pretty snazzy!
